The resource allows schools to review, improve, and implement health and safety policies and practice. The School Health Index contains eight modules that are completed by school staff teams. The modules cover school health and safety policies and environment, health education, physical education and other physical activity programs, nutrition services, school health services, school counselling, psychological and social services, health promotion for staff, and family and community involvement. Schools can use the results of the self-assessment to plan initiatives and improve health and safety in the school.
