NEDC Event

Addressing Eating Disorders in Primary Care - BUNBURY WA

About this event

Eating disorders affect approximately 9% of Australians, have one of the highest mortality rates of any mental illness, and require a multidisciplinary approach. When armed with the right information, screening and referral tools, GPs, psychologists, dietitians, and primary health care professionals play an important role in early identification and supporting recovery.

The National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) and Western Australia Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) invite all medical and health professionals to a 2-hour professional development workshop on eating disorders in primary care. The workshop will cover screening and assessment, management and treatment, supporting patient and carers, recovery and essential elements of care, referral pathways, support services, and resources.

NEDC are delighted to host guest speaker Uli O'Sullivan, Training Coordinator and Dietitian, CAMHS Eating Disorders Program, and Eating Disorders Training and Evaluation Centre, EDTEC. Uli brings a wealth of experience and clinical expertise in eating disorders practice and education in Western Australia.

Join us at 6:30pm for finger food, networking and registration. The workshop will commence at 7:00pm.

We hope to provide this education to as many health professionals as possible. While it is a free event, registrations are essential.
