Online: Understanding Eating Disorder Recovery for Carers

Skills to help your loved one through recovery of an eating disorder: 6 consecutive Wednesday evenings 9 May – 13 June 2018, 6 – 8pm AEST Caring for a person with an eating disorder is a long-term and skilled commitment. Yet families are often expected to provide care without any training or support. In this six-week workshop, facilitated by qualified counsellors, you’ll develop practical skills to support your loved one with an eating disorder in their progress towards recovery - all in the comfort of your home. Why attend? This evidence-led workshop, based on Janet Treasure’s book Skills-Based Caring for a Loved One with an Eating Disorder, will help you: - Understand and adapt your caring style - Connect with others going through similar experiences - Learn about helping to motivate change - Develop new communication skills - Manage difficult behavior - Understand what might be happening for your loved one.
