Introduction to Eating Disorders - Hobart

About this event

The National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) in collaboration with Primary Health Tasmania invites local GPs, Primary Care Nurses and Managers, Pharmacists, Dietitians, and Allied Health and Community Health Professionals as well as medical and health students to a free education evening on eating disorders. During the session the following topics will be covered - screening and assessment, management and treatment, supporting patient and carers, recovery and essential elements of care, referral pathways, support services and NEDC resources.

Learning Outcomes:

Recognise and respond to the myths, prevalence, risk factors, comorbidities, and warning signs of eating disorders
Apply practical evidence based strategies in the prevention, early identification and management of eating disorders
Understand essential elements of care and recovery and implement multidisciplinary strategies to improve client / patient mental health outcomes
Knowledge of eating disorder resources, referral pathways and specialised support services
