No Body is Perfect: Teaching and Learning about Body Image and Gender
This resource provides Year 7 to 10 teachers of Personal Development, Health and Physical Education Syllabus a curriculum that explores issues related to body image and gender. The curriculum is provided on behalf of the New South Wales Department of Education and Training. The teaching and learning activities are organised into two units of "Alright to be Me" and "Being Me" with various learning activities. Learning activities in the first unit explore issues such as what it means to be a healthy person, what it means to have an Eating Disorder, and body image influences. The second unit explores identity and encourages students to critically evaluate stereotypical social expectations of masculinity and femininity.
