About this event
At this webinar, to be held on Thursday, August 20, 11am-12.30pm AEST, Dr Christina Weirenga will cover the latest scientific advances in our understanding of interoception in Eating Disorders (ED), and how these findings can help inform treatment interventions.
Specifically, Dr Wierenga will present data and discuss (1) the role of body distrust in ED symptomatology, (2) the neurobiological bases of altered body-related expectancy and experience in ED, (3) and the relationship between interoception, anxiety, and body image disturbance in ED. Strategies for applying these findings to treatment will be discussed, including methods used in Temperament-Based Treatment with Supports (TBT-S), as well as considerations for other popular approaches, such as interoceptive exposure and intuitive eating.
To facilitate claiming of PD points, certificates of attendance and the learning objectives will be provided to attendees.
