About this event

SAVE THE DATE

The conference theme this year is From Ripples to Rivers: How Far We’ve Come; it offers the opportunity to reflect on how small ripples of changes in the field of eating disorders across the past 18 years since ANZAED’s inception, have unfolded into vast rivers of development and progress.

With keynote speakers Dr Jennifer Gaudiani, MD - Denver, Colorado, and Dr Beth Shelton, National Director of Australia’s National Eating Disorder Collaboration (NEDC) joining us, we will be offering up a truly excellent conference program that caters to clinicians and researchers alike.

This year ANZAED will be offering a hybrid format conference that will allow both in-person and live online attendance options, and the program has been streamlined to best suit this new model. An adjusted and slightly streamlined program has been prepared to best meet our delegates’ needs. ANZAED are still planning to proceed with a live conference and are hopeful delegates from all across Australia and New Zealand will be able to attend.

In the event that meeting in-person is not feasible ANZAED will live stream the conference and also host satellite streamed events in some other locations (pending COVID-19 related restrictions within each state) to facilitate local gatherings.

Updates include:

- Pre-conference workshops will be held in-person on Thursday 19 August in Perth to allow for interactive and dynamic sessions. ANZAED would like to invite you to submit abstracts for 90-minute workshops, which will be held in place of the usual in-conference workshops. If you are planning to submit a workshop for consideration, please ensure you will be able to attend the conference in Perth to present this in person, or will have someone locally to co-present. Workshops will also be filmed and made available to all delegates following the conference.

Both international and local keynotes, two plenaries and a social event will take place in Perth on Friday 20 August. These will be live and streamed online to those who can’t attend in person.

 - Oral presentations will be presented in an online format on Saturday 21 August, so ANZAED strongly encourage submissions from all delegates who are keen to share their research in the field of eating disorders, regardless of where you are located and your capacity to travel to Perth.

- All poster presentations will be made available through the conference website and all registered delegates will have access to these. Poster presenters will be asked to upload a PDF of their presentation along with the option of a short 3-minute audio presentation, briefly discussing their poster.

 - International keynote speaker Dr Jennifer Gaudiani will be hosting a live Medical Complications of Eating Disorders session, including Q&A on the morning of Saturday 21 August where delegates will have the opportunity to submit questions regarding all your trickiest medical and physical health-related queries around eating disorders and have these answered in an interactive online setting by this world-renowned expert.

 - In addition, ANZAED will also be hosting satellite events in some other locations, in order to facilitate local gatherings of delegates to view a live stream of the conference and enjoy local networking opportunities.
