Open Webinar: Dietitian Practice Standards

Open Webinar: Dietitian Practice Standards

ANZAED

About this event

The Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) recently developed general principles and clinical practice standards recommended for mental health clinicians and dietitians providing treatment for people with eating disorders.

Separate dietetic practice and training standards were then devised as a foundation for strengthening the workforce and providing guidance to professional training programs and service providers on the minimal standards required for practice in the eating disorder field.

This presentation will present the recommendations for dietitians providing eating disorder treatment based around the core dietetic skills of screening, professional responsibility, assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation, outlining the role and scope of practice of the dietitian within the multidisciplinary team.

The incorporation of these standards into dietetic-specific training programs and learning opportunities (e.g. supervision) will also be discussed.

Presenters:

  • Dr Gabriella Heruc, Accredited Practising Dietitian
  • Dr Susan Hart, Accredited Practicing Dietitian
  • Ms Michelle Roberton, Accredited Practicing Dietitian

Chair: Ms Anjanette Casey, Accredited Practicing Dietitian

Date and Time: Monday 1 February 2021 (1 hour duration), 1.15pm AEST
