Family Based Therapy is recognised as the first-line, evidence-based manualised treatment of children and adolescents (e.g. 2017 NICE; 2014 RANZCP guidelines). FBT is a behavioural treatment that utilizes the family as a key resource for recovery in the home environment. The treatment progresses through three phases over approximately 20 sessions.
