Parenting and Setting Boundaries around an Eating Disorder

Parenting and Setting Boundaries around an Eating Disorder

Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA)

About this event

Maria Ganci, Clinical Social Worker, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist & Director of APT Therapeutics Solutions
Maria Ganci delves into the perfect storm of ED and adolescence!

An adolescent with an eating disorder brings additional complexities around challenging behaviors resulting from their eating disorder and co-occurring conditions such as ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and OCD.

How do we distinguish behaviors that could be attributed to normal adolescence and those heightened or accentuated by an eating disorder?

And how do we manage behaviors around life matters including relationships, school, work, driving, drinking, exercising etc?

Join us to connect the dots in navigating the challenging combination of adolescence and ED.

For EDFA members only. Membership is $25. Membership gives access to monthly state-based strive carer support groups, twice monthly education sessions and more.
