Victoria: RENEW Carer Course

Victoria: RENEW Carer Course

Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV)

About this event

The RENEW course runs for 4 weeks and involves skills-based learning and thinking about how to support your loved one, even though you may not currently be taking an active role in their re-nourishing.

The weekly themes are:

Session 1: Carer Agency
Session 2: Stages of Change
Session 3: Boundary Setting
Session 4: Scaffolding (encouraging you to stay connected to your loved one in the areas of their life you can have influence)

Following the presentation on the weekly topic, there will be space for shared learning among the group, supported by facilitators who also have lived experience caring for a loved one with an eating disorder.

The RENEW course is suitable for families/carers who are not currently participating in family-led refeeding and whose loved one has been unwell for an extended period of time and may be experiencing other challenges to their recovery. Your loved one may not be living with you.

If the person you care for is under 16 and you are doing family-led refeeding, please consider joining EDV's UPSKILL course.

The RENEW course is free to attend.  Please note you must be a resident of Victoria, Australia to attend.

RENEW runs every Tuesday for four weeks from 9.30am - 10.30am.

People are encouraged to attend all four weeks of the course in order to build a sense of community.
