LEARNING OUTCOMES:

• Key strategies for increasing client engagement and motivation

• MANTRA case formulation

• Working with clients to improve emotional tolerance and cognitive flexibility

• Increasing support of close others in treatment and recovery

YOUR PRESENTERS:

Emma is a clinical psychologist and co-director of The Swan Centre - a multidisciplinary service in Western Australia for children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders. She has over 10 years of experience in the treatment of severe and complex eating disorders, and is a member of the WA Eating Disorders Subnetwork group and organising committee for the 2021 Australian New Zealand Association for Eating Disorders conference. Clinically, Emma has worked in the specialist eating disorder programmes at the Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI) and Hollywood Hospital, as well as on the internationally-recognised SWAN research trial of treatments, including MANTRA, for adults with anorexia nervosa. Emma continues to use MANTRA in her clinical work at The Swan Centre.

Tiffany is the Lead Clinical Psychologist at Headway Psychology in Western Australia. She is an experienced and credentialed eating disorder clinician who works with clients across the lifespan with a range of eating and body image concerns. Tiffany has a particular interest in the integration of trauma-focused and eating disorder treatments, and in providing supervision in this area. Tiffany graduated with a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from The University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2013. During her training she completed an internship at the Section of Eating Disorders at The Maudsley Hospital in London where she was supervised by Dr Ulrike Schmidt, who developed MANTRA. Tiffany utilises MANTRA in her current practice.
