Date: 11 July 2024

Time: 4:00-6:00pm AEST

Location: Online

What's it all about?

This webinar will focus on supporting neurodivergent (ND) folk with eating disorders, differences, and/or difficulties. It's specifically designed for healthcare professionals, as well as other folks who work / have interest in these domains.

We will approach things from a person-centred, trauma-informed, intersectional, de-pathologising, anti-oppressive framework, based on evidence and community lived experience.

Key topics will include:

  • Distinguishing between eating disorders, differences, and/or difficulties
  • Understanding the intersections (neurodivergence, eating, and more)
  • Issues with "gold standard" approaches
  • How to support neurodivergent folk
  • Accessibility & autonomy
  • Harm reduction

We will cover things broadly re: eating disorders / differences / difficulties in general, as well as understanding unique factors & considerations relevant to supporting neurodivergent folk.

I am a clinical psychologist, and also bring my own lived experience to this work, as a multiply neurodivergent (AuDHD+), queer, non-binary trans, disabled, chronically ill person with eating differences/difficulties, and past history of an eating disorder.

Folks' diverse experiences and insights are valued, and there will be room for respectful questions / reflections :)
