Neurodivergence, Gender Diversity, and Eating Disorders

Neurodivergence, Gender Diversity, and Eating Disorders

EDNA

About this event

The team at EDNA has the pleasure to announce that Kai Schweizer (They/He) will be talking about the complex and interconnected variety of factors that can influence the development and maintenance of disordered eating and eating disorders in neurodivergent gender diverse individuals, and why these are critical to take into account during eating disorder care.

This webinar will delve into the complex intersections of neurodivergence, gender diversity, and eating disorders, shedding light on the unique factors that contribute to disordered eating in these populations including gender dysphoria, minority stressors, sensory processing differences, executive functioning challenges, and barriers to support. Combining research, professional insights, and lived experience, this session will offer an understanding of the unique experiences and support needs of neurodivergent gender diverse individuals living with eating disorders.

This webinar is introductory in nature and does not require prior in-depth knowledge of the topic. Indeed, it has been designed to cater to a wide audience, including carers, healthcare professionals, allied health professionals, as well as gender diverse people with lived or living eating disorders.
