About this study

Toward Embodied Healing: Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy for Body Image Disturbance We are in the final stages of recruitment for the clinical trial, emBodIeD, a world-first study investigating the novel treatment of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy to treat body image disturbance in women with partially recovered anorexia nervosa. This ground-breaking trial involves 16 weeks of therapy and three doses of psilocybin at Swinburne University, Hawthorn.

ParticipantsParticipants are required to:

· Have a history of Anorexia Nervosa (BMI<18.5 in the past) and currently have a BMI minimum of 18.5 or higher, with persistent body image distress/disturbance.

· Be 21+ years

· Nominate a "support" person (who will have three sessions of non-psilocybin psychoeducation/supportive therapy)

· Wean off SSRI and/or some other contraindicated medications prior to the commencement of the trial (with the assistance of their care team)

· Not have a history of psychosis, bipolar, or personality disorders which might prevent a safe therapeutic bond being formed in a relatively short period of time
