Participants
The research team are seeking participants who meet the following criteria
• Are aged between 5 and 16 years of age
• Have a lifelong disability
• Eat fewer than 30 foods; or exclude whole food groups; or are unable to participate in family mealtimes.
What is Involved
Participants will be asked to take photos or short videos of mealtimes over a 2 week period and then participate in an interview over Zoom with Rene Fraser using the photos and videos to support the child or young person’s communication and explore their experiences of eating and mealtimes. Children and young people will be supported to participate in interviews using a range of developmentally appropriate communication supports. The purpose of the research is to learn about children and young people’s experiences to support a holistic understanding of mealtimes and interventions that are provided to these children and young people ultimately supporting development of resources.
