Participants
Families with a primary school aged child (5 - 12 years) who experiences binge eating.
What is Involved
A parent and the child will complete an online survey about children's eating habits. The survey asks questions about the strengths and challenges of eating habits in children. The questions are safe for all children, whether there are eating problems or not.
The parent and child with then attend a short online interview with a member of the research team to provide feedback on the language of the questions in the survey. The interview will not ask about the parent or child's answers to the survey questions but rather will focus on improving the language used in the survey so that it is easy for other families to use.
At the end of the interview the family will receive an online shopping voucher as a thank you for their time and contribution to the study.

A team of esteemed Australian researchers and clinicians are collaborating with industry stakeholders, health professionals, and families with a child who experiences eating disorders, to develop a screening tool (ScreenED) for the early detection of eating disorders in children. Currently, no reliable measure exists for use with children aged 5 – 12 years. The ScreenED project is inviting families with a child (5 – 12 years) who experiences binge eating, to do an online survey about children’s eating habits, and attend a short interview to provide feedback on the questions in the survey
