Clinicians wanting to apply for the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential will need to have completed NEDC approved trainings in introduction to eating disorders and evidence-based treatment model (mental health professionals) or evidence-informed dietetic practice training (dietitians only). This page lists those trainings that have been approved by NEDC and meet the requirement for the specific types of training under the Credential eligibility criteria.
Training approval is not retrospectively applied; that is, if you completed a training prior to it being approved, you will not be able to use this in your application for the Credential.
Please note that website links for training have been provided where available. If you are looking for upcoming training, please see our Upcoming Training and Events page. You can find out more about training providers in Australia here.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (DBT)
There are currently no DBT trainings approved. This is due to the more extensive requirements to become an accredited DBT therapist. Existing DBT for eating disorder trainings focus on teaching elements of DBT, and how these relate to the treatment of eating disorders. These trainings are appropriate for clinicians that have experience in working with people experiencing eating disorders and are trained in at least on evidence-based treatment model. NEDC will continue to work with DBT training providers to ensure DBT training is available for clinicians not already experienced in eating disorders and seeking this as their initial treatment approach.
