Perth: Temperament Based Therapy with Supports (TBT-S) Training for Treatment Providers and Carers
About this event
TBT-S uses experiential therapy to help the person with an eating disorder (and their support people) understand how their symptoms can be explained by their temperament – an umbrella term involving biology, brain functioning, genetics and personality traits. TBT-S is designed to build upon other Eating Disorder (ED) therapies, e.g., ICAT, DBT, RO-BBT, CBT-E, FBT, IPT and ACT, addressing neurobiological alterations, treating to the traits, and including Supports for clients of all ages.
TBT-S Level 1 is a one-day introduction to this novel treatment. It will focus on:
- Why and how to share eating disorder neurobiological alterations with clients
- What, why and how to utilise a wide range of client temperament traits as their strengths to manage their symptoms
- Why, when and how to include support persons in eating disorder adult treatment
- Introduction to TBT-S Treatment tools.
TBT-S Level 2 is a four-day training focusing on clinician practice and application of TBT-S tools.
