Hospital Admission Guidelines

State/Territory Admission Guidelines

A number of jurisdictions have developed state/territory-wide hospital admission guidelines for eating disorders. Clinicians should refer to the relevant state/territory guidelines where these exist to determine if a patient meets the criteria for either a medical or psychiatric admission. In the absence of state/territory guidelines, clinicians should refer to local service-level guidelines.

The table below provides an overview of the state/territory admission guidelines.
