Wandi Nerida is a 13-bed accredited private hospital located on a 25-acre property on the Sunshine Coast hinterland, on Kabi Kabi Country. As Australia’s first and most established residential treatment centre for eating disorders, we provide residential care in a homelike environment where participants can focus on recovery, and establish a healthy relationship with food, body, and self.

National Strategy Standards and Actions

Treatment-Hospital and residential

Standard 1: There is sufficient access to hospital beds and residential care to meet the medical and psychiatric needs of children and adolescents, transition age groups (16-25), adults, and older adults.   

Action 1.1: State and territory governments to map the need for inpatient care for people across age groups and provide greater access to beds as required.  

Psychosocial and recovery support

Standard 1: People experiencing eating disorders and their families/supports have access to psychosocial and recovery support services and programs, according to their needs.  

Action 1.2: Clinical services to include psychosocial and recovery support providers in the multidisciplinary care team where appropriate.
