The program is designed specifically for parents and carers of school-aged children and adolescents and provides vital education and resources to enable recognition of and response to the early signs of disordered eating to prevent the development of an eating disorder. The program includes a 30-minute masterclass with a comprehensive outline of the early signs of disordered eating to look out for, featuring lived experience carers and experts. It also offers a 15-20 minute online one-on-one Q&A session with our expert and lived experience carer. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and receive individualised support tailored to your unique situation on how to navigate disordered eating in the home.

4.1 Parents and caregivers to be supported through a range of health, social and community services and programs to build their own confidence and skills in fostering their child(ren)’s positive body esteem, media literacy and positive relationships with food and eating. 

Identification

1.2 Eating disorder and mental health organisations to continue to provide evidence-based information about eating disorders signs and symptoms and pathways to care, tailored to a range of audiences. 

1.4 Eating disorder lived experience organisations to continue to provide evidence-based resources to assist people and their families/supports and communities to identify concerns and pathways to care
