Dr Eva Vall presents six hours of live in-person online training in Guided Self Help for Eating Disorders via Zoom (times are in AEST)
Guided Self Help for (GSH) is an underutilised but important treatment option for non-underweight eating disorders, particularly those presenting with binge features.
This workshop will cover the following:
- How GSH fits into the stepped-care model of eating disorder treatment
- Theoretical background and evidence base supporting the use of GSH for eating disorders
- Detailed guide on how to implement GSH in clinical practice, with opportunity to practice key concepts
- How to manage issues when providing GSH in a real-world clinical setting
The course will be interactive and include group discussions, small group discussions and individual activities.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the theoretical background and evidence-base supporting CBT-GSH
- Describe how CBT-GSH fits into the stepped care model of treatment for eating disorders to determine suitability of CBT-GSH for client group
- Obtain the knowledge and skills to effectively deliver CBT-GSH in clinical practice
