ANZAED 2023 Virtual Workshop (1-Day): Guided Self Help for Eating Disorders – An Essential Modality for Your Toolkit

ANZAED 2023 Virtual Workshop (1-Day): Guided Self Help for Eating Disorders – An Essential Modality for Your Toolkit

About this event

Guided Self Help for eating disorders (CBT-GSH) is an underutilised but important treatment option for clients with non-underweight eating disorders, particularly those presenting with binge features. The CBT-GSH modality can also help to reduce the therapeutic burden for practitioners and clients.

Workshop content:

  • How GSH fits into the stepped-care model of eating disorder treatment
  • Theoretical background and evidence base supporting the use of GSH for eating disorders
  • Detailed guide on how to implement GSH in clinical practice, with opportunity to practice key concepts
  • How to manage issues when providing GSH in a real-world clinical setting

The course will be interactive and include group discussions, small group discussions and individual activities.

This workshop will take place via Zoom. Times in AEST.

Please note that unfortunately this course is not suitable for practitioners who are new to the eating disorder field. A basic understanding of eating disorder diagnoses is assumed, as is some basic knowledge of the principles of CBT for eating disorders.
