What is FBT? Exposing the Myths

What is FBT? Exposing the Myths

About this event

A discussion with Professor Dr James Lock, MD, PhD, Faculty Co-Director of the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders, Kellie Lavender, Certified Family Based Treatment Therapist and Supervisor, and a carer who will share their own treatment experience.

You may have heard some damaging and false ideas about FBT. This is an excellent opportunity to hear the truth about FBT first hand from our expert clinical and lived experience panel and to learn how you can assist in the recovery of the person you are supporting using this treatment.

Parents, carers, families, clinicians – anyone supporting individuals in recovery from an eating disorder will gain knowledge, confidence and empowerment from leading experts in Family Based Treatment.

The discussion will be followed by a ½ hour convened Q&A with the panel and the audience.

Open to non-EDFA members. Free for EDFA members.

As from 1st July 2023, EDFA membership is $35 Single / $55 Family.  Membership gives access to monthly online state-based strive carer support groups, twice-monthly EDucation webinars, an in-house library of 160+ eating disorder webinar recordings, Australian services lists for families and more.
