Queensland: Fostering Recovery Workshop
About this event
EDQ are holding interactive skills-based workshops for family members and carers supporting a loved one with an eating disorder facilitated by an experienced Key Support Coach and a Lived Experience worker.
This workshop is based on strategies from the work of Janet Treasure which focus on a collaborative approach to supporting a loved one and includes:
- understanding the eating disorder mindset
- stages of change
- caring styles within the family
- meal support strategies
- communication approaches
- problem-solving strategies
This free group is open to all current carer/key support clients of Eating Disorders Qld. If you are interested in attending, or becoming a client of EDQ, please contact admin@edq.org.au. "Key Supports" includes anyone who is providing support to a person with an eating disorder - including friends, partners, siblings, and more.
RSVP to secure a place. Please submit one form per person - even if you will be attending together. As part of the registration process, you will be contacted prior by EDQ for a brief phone call to establish if the workshop will meet your needs. There is no cost associated with this workshop.

The next Fostering Recovery Workshops will be held on 20 May, 30 May, 6 June and 13 June.
