About this event

Join us for an hour of education in identifying and responding to people presenting to your service with an eating disorder. This session is suitable for anyone in a health or community services role, including peer workers, psychosocial support workers and aboriginal health workers.

In this session we will cover:

  • Types of eating disorders
  • What is the current picture of eating disorders in Australia?
  • Understanding the stepped system of care for eating disorders
  • Risk factors and warning signs
  • Providing an initial response - engagement, motivation and action
  • Screening and assessment tools
  • Navigating physical risk
  • Referral pathways, resources and supports
