Educator Training Pathway

Access the Identification Learning Packages through NEDC’s Educator Training Pathway.

Designed for tertiary educators across health disciplines, the Educator Training Pathway (ETP) supports educators new to the field and those wanting to expand their teaching in eating disorders.

The ETP establishes essential foundations for teaching, including core eating disorder principles, identification concepts, scope of practice considerations, and guidance on tailoring materials. It includes training and resources which are required to deliver the Identification Learning Packages.

The ETP includes:

·       Two free eLearning modules (35mins)

·       Online Educator Training Workshop (90min for live pathway or 45min for self-guided pathway)

·       Guidance for completing an Eating Disorder Safe Teaching Plan

Experienced Eating Disorder Educators

Experienced eating disorder educators who meet the minimum training and safety standards can access the Identification Learning Packages through one of two educator training pathways.

Self-guided pathway

The self‑guided Educator Training Pathway gives experienced eating disorder educators immediate access to the Identification Learning Packages.

It supports self‑directed learning by outlining the relevant learning and resource components of the Educator Training Pathway, which educators can use to prepare for delivery.

Educators agree to engage in adequate additional learning as outlined in the ETP self-guided learning overview and to develop an Eating Disorder Safe Teaching Plan.

Facilitated live pathway

The facilitated live training pathway provides more structured support and live workshop facilitation.

It requires eLearning completion, live workshop participation, eating disorder safe teaching plan development and survey completion for accessing the Identification Learning Packages.

Educators New to Teaching about Eating Disorder Identification

Educators who are new to teaching about eating disorder identification, and/or don’t meet the minimum training and safety standards can complete the facilitated live Educator Training Pathway, as outlined above.

**Coming soon: A self-guided pathway for educators new to teaching about eating disorders will be launched soon.

Who can apply?

Educators from dietetics, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, and other health social and community support disciplines can apply to access the Identification Learning Packages via the Educator Training Pathway.
