Identification Learning Modules for Tertiary Education
NEDC’s Identification Learning Packages equip tertiary educators to deliver training in eating disorder identification. The packages support contemporary, safe, and evidence‑based teaching through a flexible delivery model that integrates into existing curricula.
Developing an identification skillset in graduates
Eating Disorder Safe and eating disorder identification skills are recognised by professional bodies as core competencies for graduates across health disciplines (NEDC, 2024). Despite this, many graduates from key health professions may complete their studies without the knowledge, skills, or confidence needed to prevent, identify, refer, or provide safe care within their role and scope of practice.
To address this gap, NEDC co-developed the Eating Disorder Identification Learning Packages for Tertiary Education with the Eating Disorders in Tertiary Education Collaborative Network (EDTE-CN), a multidisciplinary group of Australian lived experience experts, academics, and educators.
