Swinburne University of Technology is hosting the 3rd biennial - and first virtual - Body Image & Related Disorders (BIRD) one-day conference, bringing together leading local and international experts in the fields of body image and eating disorders. Themed presentations will address a range of topics including lived experience driven research, and the phenomenology, biology and treatment of body image disturbance, body dysmorphic disorder, and eating disorders.

The Keynote speaker will be Joanna Steinglass from Columbia University Medical Center & New York State Psychiatric Institute, New York, USA, who will present on translational research from mechanism to treatment in anorexia nervosa.

Following the keynote will be short presentations across four major sessions, including: Anorexia Nervosa, Body Image & Eating Disorders broadly, Lived Experience in Body Image & Eating Disorders Research, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Posters will also be made available online for attendee viewing.
