How to Navigate Ramadan with an Eating Disorder

How to Navigate Ramadan with an Eating Disorder

About this event

Ramadan is a time of self-reflection and devotion that many Muslims around the world look forward to. However, for people suffering from eating disorders, it is risky to fast as there is a high probably of relapse especially if one hasn't fully recovered.

Clinical psychologist Carine el Khazen will present the risks of fasting in detail, explain why sufferers are exempt from fasting, and provide information for carers on how to support their loved ones during this difficult period.

This webinar is free of charge and open to anyone to attend. It will also be posted in the F.E.A.S.T. Online Library once the event has concluded.

Note: The event takes place at 10am on Wednesday, 1 March US time, which is 2am on Thursday, 2 March. Please check times carefully.

Carine el Khazen has a Masters’ Degree in Clinical and Psychopathological Psychology (USJ), post-graduate degree (DESS) in Clinical and Psychopathological Psychology (University of Sorbonne), and diploma in Profound Studies (DEA) in Clinical Psychopathology (University of Jussieu). She is a fellow of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) and Vice-President of the NGO MEEDA (the Middle East Eating Disorders Association).
