Maudsley Family-Based Therapy (Introductory Training)
About this event
The aim of this introductory workshop is to provide intensive practical training in the application of this model, which encompasses a comprehensive exploration of the theoretical background, framework, and the role of the multidisciplinary team. Participants will delve into a detailed description of the treatment phases, key sessions, and the therapeutic process, along with discussions on clinical issues to enable successful implementation.
The workshop includes guided role plays to enhance participants' micro-skill development. This will cover all aspects of the model and will focus on clinical processes and problem-solving within the model. Upon completion, participants will possess a robust working knowledge of the model and will be equipped to consider using FBT in their clinical setting. It is expected that clinicians attending will have professional training and skills in child and adolescent mental health care, knowledge and experience with adolescent eating disorders, and previous experience working with families, which is considered an advantage.
