About this event

This 2-part training commences with a ½ day didactic session “Introduction to ARFID”, progressing on to a workshop
outlining interdisciplinary cognitive-behavioural therapy for ARFID. The CBT-AR workshop will describe in detail various
techniques and strategies through the utilisation of clinical examples, video demonstrations, and experiential practice,
in order for workshop participants to gain not only an understanding of the techniques, but the confidence to utilise
them in their own practice.

Program Overview


Part 1 – Day 1 (8:30am – 12:00pm) Introduction to ARFID
For all clinicians working across a variety of different clinical settings who see presentations of ARFID
(including DEM, medical/mental health inpatient units, community mental health services, etc.). Additionally, it
is a compulsory precursor to the CBT-AR workshop
→ Understanding ARFID and it’s medical & psychological complexities
→ Recognise, screen, & respond with appropriate clinical interventions & treatment


Part 2 - Day 1 & Day 2 CBT-AR Workshop
For interdisciplinary teams providing CBT-AR (priority will be given to QHealth clinicians)
→ CBT-AR overview
→ CBT-AR in practice
→ Complex case discussions and interdisciplinary application

Requirement

Please note, the “Introduction to ARFID” is a compulsory part of the training for those attending the CBT-AR
workshop, however is also open to any clinicians delivering care to consumers with ARFID to attend as a standalone
session.
